ECVIM-CA Congress 2026
Main Congress

This congress is a very well-known event on the veterinary internal medicine calendar. The programme has streams of lectures organized by special interest societies, such as comparative hepatology, gastroenterology, nephrology and urology, endocrinology, internal medicine, infectious diseases, clinical pathology, nutrition, oncology and cardiology. There are also oral abstract sessions, again organized by the specialist societies, and poster exhibits of abstracts.
This year, the SCH Main Congress Day will take place on Thursday, 10th September, focused on acute liver failure: programme and speakers here.

SCH Pre-Congress Day

We are very pleased to announce that once again, we’ll have an additional day of liver fun, before the main congress!
This pre-congress day will focus on increasing canine and feline liver disease knowledge by uniting clinical practice and research: programme, speakers and further information here.

Jan Rothuizen award for best oral abstract (sponsored by Hill’s)

BSAVA award for oral abstract
- Dr Devriendt: The lidocaine/monoethylglycinexylydide test is a valuable alternative to Protein C activity to determine shunt closure after surgical attenuation of extrahepatic portosystemic shunts in dogs.
BSAVA award for poster abstract
- Dr Zoia: Clinical implications of hepatic volume and shunt morphology in dogs with congenital portosystemic shunts and the impact of attenuation on volume based on shunt type.
